What is the Build Fee?
There is no build fee! When you subscribe to our monthly website offer, we will build you a website for free.
How much is the Build Fee?
£0! Really! We include it for free with our monthly website plan.
What is Hosting?
It's an online service that makes your website accessible on the internet
What is the Hosting cost?
This is the cost of putting your website on the world wide web! It's included in your monthly fee. As long as you pay your fee, your website remains online.
What is a Domain Name?
This is your www.websitename.co.uk
What is a Domain Name cost?
If you opt for a .co.uk address, then there is no cost to you when you subscribe to our monthly website package. If you want to opt for a different top-level domain (eg .com .net .org etc) there may be an additional cost (please contact me to get a quote)
What is SSL?
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a required security protocol that provides privacy, encryption, authentication and data integrity. It ensures any data transmitted through your website (from contact forms to payments) cannot be tampered with or intercepted - it keeps your customers safe, and ensures your integrity! You may have gone onto websites before where your screen turns blank and a message such as "This website is not safe, do not proceed" pops up - this is a website that doesn't have SSL and can easily put off customers.
What is your SSL fee?
This is usually an additional fee for many website owners, but is included free for you with our monthly fee - yay!
What other costs can I expect?
There is generally just one fee for 99.9% of my clients, and that's the monthly plan fee. If you choose to use additional apps, there may be additional fees associated with them. Likewise, if you want to include images that aren't included in our Stock Image package, there will be additional costs to obtain those. Our Information Websites only include 4 pages - additional pages can be added at £100 per page.
How do I pay?
you pay monthly using our susbcription plan over on the website page. It's a rolling plan, and once payment has been taken you will have the full services for 30 days. If you choose not to renew at the end of the month, the website will be shut down.
Who owns the website?
The website will remain the property of myself but will be co-owned by the client (you). This ensures I have full access to the site to enable a full maintenance offering.
What happens if I cancel the plan?
If you cancel your plan, the website will be shut down 30 days after the final payment. Our websites are not transferable due to the unique build facilities at Wix.
How long are the builds?
Our plan websites are generally built in a week. If you supply your logos, branding, information and photos up front, it really helps with getting your website built quickly and smoothly.
What is your lead time?
This varies greatly over the year, usually from 2 weeks, to several months. For the my current lead time, please get in touch.
Please note, that securing a build slot can only happen once the first payment has been taken.
Do I need an app for Mobile?
This is up to you! I do not build Apps, but as part of my package, I always ensure your website functions properly on Computer, Tablet and Mobile. As I don't have access to every mobile device out there, I rely on my customers to trial the website before we go live on their own device, and encourage them to get friends and family to do the same, so we can iron out any issues before we go live.
Ecommerce FAQs
How much is an ecommerce website going to cost?
Our ecommerce fees start from £1500, which includes the main website build of up to 6 pages, ecommerce set up, and adding up to 50 items to your store ready for Go Live.
What other fees are there?
You will need to pay for Web hosting and for a Domain Name. There are also fees to consider for additional marketing allowances, payment processing fees and any additional apps or stock images you may want to add. Webhosting starts from £250 a year, Domain names start from £15 per year.
Can I add more pages?
Of course!- additional pages can be added at £100 per page.
Do I need ID?
Yes. Current UK regulations require that you upload a current driving licence or passport to prove your identity, as well as a current bank statement, in order to use most of the payment providers. These can be uploaded via the Wix dashboard by yourself, so there is no need for me to see any sensitive information.
What payment providers can I use?
Wix Payments is the default provider, and allows you to accept payments using all major credit cards as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna Online Bank Transfer, iDEAL and Giropay (depending on your location). There are other options we can explore, for example if you are already linked with another provider and using their POS payment machines.
Payment Fees
Every purchase that goes through your website will be subject to a fee, even if that fee is refunded. Please bear this in mind when you are working out your budgeting and pricing structure. Here is an example of the fees (please note that this was taken from the Wix website, March 2024, and correct at time of writing. I cannot be held responsible for any losses due to incorrect information.)
Wix Payments: 2.1% of the transaction amount + 0.20 GBP
Apple Pay: 2.1% of the transaction amount + 0.20 GBP
Google Pay: 2.1% of the transaction amount + 0.20 GBP
Chargeback Fee: £15
PayPal: Standard PayPal fees apply

Can I add personalisation to my products?
Yes.
Can I add variations or options to my products?
Yes.
How many options can I add per product?
You can add up to 6 options for customers to choose from, and for each option you can add up to 100 choices.
For instance, Option 1 "Choose Colour", Option 2 "Choose Shape", etc.
Then for Option 1 "Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Pink, Purple...", Option 2 "Heart, Circle, Square, Rectangle, Butterfly, Hexagon..."
How many pages can I add per website?
100.
How long does it take for my payments to reach my bank?
Once your Wix Payments account is verified, you can start receiving payouts to your bank account. Wix Payments lets you choose from a daily, weekly or monthly payout cycle. Once sent, you’ll see payouts in your bank account within 3-5 business days, depending on your bank.
Do I need a business bank account?
If you are an Individual (Sole Trader), you do not need to have a business account.
How long are the builds?
Due to different factors, it is hard to put an exact time on building your ecommerce site, until we have had a chat about what you are after and looking to achieve. Some smaller sites can be ready to go in as little as 6 weeks, but more complex ones will require a longer timescale. If you supply your logos, branding, information and photos up front, it really helps with getting your website built quickly and smoothly.

Please note, that securing a build slot is dependant upon a deposit, of either the full, or 50% of, the invoiced amount.
